Clermont-Ferrand (63)
© Nicéphore+
Nicéphore+ has been supported by the Sténopé association since 2000. Originally an annual festival, this event became biennial in 2008. Each edition is built around a theme that governs its programming and content. Through around ten exhibitions by artists of different nationalities, the latter is presented in places dedicated to exhibitions and emblematic of the city of Clermont Ferrand. Nicéphore+ offers a non-exhaustive panorama of the multiple approaches that certain subjects have inspired according to societal developments, but also of the views, approaches or techniques used by each of the ten or so invited photographers. For around 6 years, a more important place has been reserved for young photography and its emerging talents. Listening to contemporary creation and the changes in our relationship with the image that it testifies to, it is also a question of offering possibilities of showing projects that are sometimes hybrid, or more committed to multi-media. Nicéphore+ aims to be a vector, allowing to offer a broad overview of the diversity of photographic creation and its modes or forms of expression. Since the origin of the event, Nicéphore + has also reflected the commitments of the Sténopé association: to professional photographers or those in training (display rights, production assistance, scenographies, educational projects, free portfolio readings); as well as to the public: free access to exhibitions and to all related events (guided tours for all audiences and schools, etc.).
The last edition in date, "Un autre regard sur la photographie de mode" happened from 5 to 26 of october 2024.
