Deauville (14)

Since its creation, Planches Contact, the Deauville photography festival, has supported creation through a residency program where Normandy, protagonist or setting, becomes each year in the spring the territory of exploration for the invited artists.
The twenty or so artists from all over the world, established or emerging, are encouraged to seek new ways of looking at and rendering reality. The festival program is built around their new works, produced during their residencies and presented in specially designed installations, in locations chosen according to their nature. Photography thus invests the entire city, from the spaces of the Franciscaines museum complex and the Point de Vue to the beach, in authorial journeys that redraw public space and modify its perception.
Alongside the exhibitions, the festival offers a programme aimed at all audiences, including regular meetings with artists, conferences and round tables, competitions, initiatives for young people and school groups, as well as portfolio readings, workshops and workshops for photographers and the informed public.
