The BPM - Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse is a cross-border festival whose aim is to disseminate contemporary photography around a strong and unifying event. Based on a theme that is renewed each time, the program defends internationally recognized artists while discovering new talents, from the Grand Est or elsewhere. Since 2013, 6 editions have taken place: Play & Replay (2013), L’autre et le même (2016), Attraction(s) (2018), This is the end (2020) and Corps Célestes (2022). Mondes impossibles(2024) was the latest, from september to october 2024.
The BPM aims to show a contemporary photographic practice in perpetual movement and questioning. The relationship of photographic production, its contemporaneity is one of the axes of the programming: its relationship to the evolution of the medium but also to the ecological, social, economic context.
